Barrio Castelo: 2-family house Rua Espirito Santo, renovated. In the resort, 500 m from the centre, 20 km from the sea. 150 m steep footpath to the house. Public parking 500 m on the road. Grocery 300 m, restaurant 200 m, bus stop 300 m, railway station 3 km, underground station Baixa Chiado (líneas A-B) 500 m, sandy beach Costa da Caparica 20 km. Within the walls of Castelo de Sao Jorge, 50 m from the entrance to the castle. From the metro stop to the property, sloping access via winding roads. It is possible to take a taxi (price approx. 4 euros) or from the Praca Figueira (metro Rossio), take the bus 37 which will drop you 80 m from the holiday property. Tranvia 28 (tourist circuit) 250 m.

The whole family stayed in the apartment (2 adults + 3 teenagers). Remarks:
1. The pictures in the website do not give you a good overview of the apartment. You have two good places to sleep (sleeping room and mezzanine, each for 2 persons), plus a sofa bank in the leaving room on which at least one person can sleep. The bathroom is OK.
2. There is no television and no WIFI, what makes difficult to get an idea of weather conditions or useful information on public transportation or opening times of attractions and monuments.
3. The wash machine in the kitchen was not working (October 2012).
4. The kitchen is not well equipped: no boiler, no microwaves.
With some small efforts of the landlord on the apartment, the quality of visitor’s stay could be much better.
Mieszkanie, chociaz wyremontowane (dla wygodny mieszkanców), daje atmosfere starego kilkusetletniego budynku. Takie doswiadczenie to bardzo rzadki element w naszych czasach. Poza tym lokalizacja mieszkania na starej, zabytkowej ulicy w bezposrenim sasiedztwie zasiedzialych tam rodzin portugalskich - umozliwia swietna obserwacje (wieczornego) zycia tradycyjnych Portugalczyków. Duzym plusem jest fakt, iz wlasciciel apartamentu mieszka obok (szybka interwencja gdy raz przypadkowo zatrzasnalem drzwi z kluczem wewnatrz). Wlasciel to bardzo mila, serdeczna osoba. Zupelnie mi nie przeszkadzala jego slaba znajomosc jez. angielskiego.
