Holiday home with private pool located in a small town
The Hill house (150 m) is located in the village of Szakácsi, situated in the centre of Cserehát, a region on the Slovakian border. It reminds of the Dordogne. The village has 150 inhabitants, a shop, two churches and a restaurant. The hill house is situated amongst hills of 200 m, on both sides of a small brook, the Patak. The village is surrounded by forest and fields. The house has a private pool. The garden belonging to the house is 3500 m2 and is home to various types of fruit trees. Part of the garden is the beginning of the forest. Bicycles are free but should be booked per day with the manager.The price includes a welcome package, a meal in a restaurant / catering the 1st Sunday after arrival.You can langlauf from the house (80 days snow a year), but there are no winter sports facilities. You can ice skate on the fishing pond (2 km) and on the dam lake (25 km).Excursions:- Eger (Baroque city) 75 km- Miskolc (extensive cultural programme and thermal bath) 30 minutes by car- Aggteleki National Park (most extensive stalactite caves in Europe) 40 km- Dam lake (swimming, not touristic) 25 km- Tokay (wine region) 50 km- Slovakia 30 km (ski regions in Slovakia at 100 km)- Bio model farm with touristic programme, 1 km- Watercolour lessons with a Dutch painter, in the village itself
note: The Hill House is part of a project that will offer accommodation for 135 people, and will include a well ness centre, a horse centre and sport facilities. We are doing that with respect for sustainability, for people and nature. In this way we also want to contribute to the employment in this underdeveloped, but beautiful region.1. In the village is a horse center. Trips on horseback for one or more days are possible, just as a lessons for beginning riders. Please ask the owner.2. In the village lives a Dutch watercolor painter with his family. He is able to give -on request- introductory lessons (2,5 hours) or a week course (5x 2,5 hours). Please ask the owner.
