« Great House, Great Location »

We stayed at Annette's for one week in August, two families, four adults and seven kids. We found the accommodation very spacious and an excellent base for our holiday. Galway City, Westport and Clifden are all within one hours drive. The village of Clonbur and the lovely village of Cong (where The Quiet Man movie was filmed) are only a five minute drive and have a number of excellent restaurants. (with Wi-Fi!)
The view from the house over Lough Corrib is stunning, you could sit all day with a book and a glass in hand. Ideal location for anglers and walkers. There is a dog at the property, a lovely, placid greyhound which belongs to the groundsman/caretaker who lives in the self-contained annex flat next door. No Wi-Fi, which had the kids playing board games, cards and talking to each other. If you would like some quiet time away from it all and don't mind a dog this is the place for you! If we ever decide to go to Co. Galway again we would definitely stay here.
There is nothing we didn't like about the house. The kids would have liked internet access or WiFi (adults glad to get away from it all :))

Als wir dort ankamen haben wir erkannt, dass wir mit einem Windhund auf dem Gelände leben mussten. Ich habe etwas Angst vor Hunden und eine Tierhaarallergie und hätte somit diese Unterkunft nie gewählt. Es stellte sich heraus, dass das Tier sehr lieb war und unsere Kinder hatten Spaß mit ihm. Aber es ist ein Unding dass das niemand einem vorher sagt. Die Hundehaufen waren eine Woche lang auf dem ganzen Gelände vor allem auf dem Rasen verteilt und mussten von uns weggemacht werden !!!!!!
In der Beschreibung steht, dass es nur 100 Meter bis zum See sind. Das stimmt. Aber mein Mann, ein Angler hat natürlich geglaubt, dass man dann auch an den See kann. Aber es gibt zu Fuss keinen Seezugang dort. Es war einfach in der Ausschreibung missverständlich formuliert. Die Vermieterin ist eine ganz nette Person und hat uns mit selbstgebackenen Scones überrascht. Das war sehr schön.
Leider tat der Wäschetrocker auch nicht problemlos.

Das Haus selbst hat eine tolle Lage und super Aussicht über den See.
